 Dear  Students  and their parents and guardians,

My name is Dinesh Kumar Deepak but popularly known as DK Deepak Sir among students and parents.   I wanted to start by allowing you to learn a little more about me. I graduated from the Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University of  Madhepura (Bihar) with my B.Sc.(Zoology honours) , then went on to earn  M.Sc.                  ( Biotechnology) from Punjab Technical university , Jalandhar (Punjab).Then after I have completed B.Ed. from MATS University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh). After that I qualified STET Bihar. Presently l am working as a government  +2 teacher in Maturam Girl's Senior secondary school , Banmankhi (Purnea). Before become as government teacher I have given my service in top coaching institute of  India as a Bio faculty like Core Academy (Kota), Aryabhatt institute, Brahmpur (Odisha), Pai education (Dhanbad), Sachdeva (Bhagalpur),Everon's Topper Tutorials (Chennai) Achiever's Tutorial (Patna) and at local level Talent Tutorials(Purnea), VVRS (Purnea) , The Frequency institute (Purnea) Mission +2 coaching institute (Purnea) etc. Popularly known as NEET expert among students and parents . If any discussions occurs among teachers of Purnea as perfect guide for neet preparation , my name is sugested because I have 10 years experience in the field of  NEET preparation.  A lot of my  students pursuing MBBS after cracking NEET under my guidence viz. My teaching philosophy is that students should solve more and practice paper after completing the NCERT books and should escape waste questions i.e. beyond  the syllabus. 

How to Prepare Biology for NEET 

• Students must plan their studies beforehand and go about the details gradually. Making a schedule or a timetable for proceeding with your Biology preparation is extremely important. Students should make a timetable for regular studies and allot time to all the topics of the subject according to their understanding. However, the benefit of such a schedule can only be availed if the student sticks to it and follows it without fail. They must ensure that they study every day as per the schedule that they have devised.

• Choosing a convenient and helpful preparation strategy is another important step that students must never forego. It is always considered wise to pick up those topics and chapters which carry high weightage. Some topics take more time for preparation than others and some need to be memorised more. Focusing more on topics from which a decent number of questions are asked in the exam is considered a wise move as it helps to increase the chances of scoring significantly more marks.

• Consulting good books from reputed authors and publications is essential because students must refer to content that is correct and valid. There are some renowned authors whose books are studied by all NEET aspirants for preparing for the subject of Biology. A lot of focus is given to NCERT books for preparing Biology for NEET.

• Making tables, charts, and personal notes prove to be quite helpful while preparing Biology for NEET. As Biology is a theoretical subject and there are a lot of topics that need to be memorised by students, it becomes convenient if they prepare notes and tables of those topics. Breaking such chapters into smaller sections and fragments gives much more clarity and the student can then retain the information easily for much longer. The usage of different colours of inks, highlighters, flowcharts, bulleted lists, etc. is of great assistance in making such notes.

• Regular revision is mandatory in the preparation of Biology for NEET. Only with frequent revision, students can memorise all the theoretical parts of the subject clearly. Revising on a daily basis does not let any confusion reside in the minds of students. It also ensures that the course content stays fresh in the memory of students. Students can also keep track of their progress in the subject by revising all the topics regularly.

• Taking mock tests is one of the major and most important parts of preparing Biology for NEET. Students must take as many mock tests as possible before they appear for NEET. Practising mock tests helps the candidates in gauging their preparation and performance. It also gives them an understanding of the type of questions that will be asked in the exam. The candidates get to know which topics do they have to focus on more than the others and the approaches they should apply to certain questions. Mock papers and old questions papers prepare the NEET aspirants for giving the exam.

Type of Questions in the NEET Biology section

The questions in the Biology section of the NEET can be divided into three types:

• NCERT based: Approximately 68-70 questions in the examination are directly from the NCERT books. They can be easily attempted by those who have read the NCERT syllabus religiously.
• Direct from the previous years’ question papers: Another 8-10 questions in the examination can be solved if you have solved the NEET questions papers of previous years. These questions are repeated with little or no modifications.
• Modified questions: At least 8-10 questions in the NEET 2022 question paper will be advanced level. These questions are the game changer for many as they cannot be solved by merely mugging up facts. Though they are from the NCERT book, to get them right you need to apply the knowledge that you have about the subject.
